How to Recycle Barcode Printers and Scanners to Reduce E-Waste

Outdated barcode printers and scanners shouldn't end up in landfills. Proper disposal not only protects the environment but can also offer financial incentives. Let's explore quick recycling methods and how you can benefit from trade-in programs.

Option 1: Quick and Responsible Recycling

If your device is beyond repair or too outdated for resale, recycling is the responsible choice. Here's how to do it efficiently:

Option 1 Quick and Responsible Recycling
  • Certified E-Waste Recyclers: Ensure your devices are handled responsibly by choosing recyclers certified under R2 or e-Stewards standards. These certifications guarantee environmentally sound practices and data security.

  • Retail Recycling Programs: Staples offers electronics recycling services in partnership with certified recyclers. You can drop off your old devices at participating locations.

Note: Before recycling, remove any batteries, accessories, or labels, and wipe any stored data to protect sensitive information.
