Worry-Free Wi-Fi Edge insights will help you quickly Pinpoint the source of latency, lost connections.

When your employees' mobile devices lose connection to the Wi-Fi network or data streams slow to a crawl, you probably have a team of people working to diagnose the problem as quickly as possible. The performance of your workflow depends on a constant connectivity between the network and your devices.

Troubleshooting Wi-Fi-related performance problems, can be notoriously time-consuming. Many of the existing tools for troubleshooting problems are fragmented, and not always clear if the problem is caused by the system, access point, or another network feature. Since many businesses have a mixed infrastructure, there is no single dashboard system that provides insight into the entire Wi-Fi network.

If a worker reports a problem and it self-resolves before the IT team can respond, it's likely that someone would need to come to the location to thoroughly troubleshoot and fix the problem.

That's why Zebra's tech engineers have been working hard to improve our Wi-Fi-specific MobilityDNA capabilities used  on all of their Android mobility products.

Introducing Worry-Free Wi-Fi Edge Insights

Zebra has been collaborating with a number of Wi-Fi access point vendors and other partners to ensure insights about Zebra’s Android devices are integrated into their Wi-Fi management dashboard. This new feature is called Worry-Free WiFi Edge Insights. It provides a comprehensive, real-time view of mobile device network output in a single dashboard that can be accessed from anywhere. This remote access allows technical staff to correct problems by accessing the network from across the city or across the country, and walk workers through the problem.

Customers' IT teams – or even partner support teams – should proactively track the health of their networks to spot problems early and help reduce downtime. In a matter of seconds, they can access deep data and voice analytics for an entire fleet of Zebra devices, including:

  • Roaming analysis –Determine the cause of an issue by looking at a variety of data, such as access point handoff performance during roaming, network traffic, and overall access point performance.

  • Voice analysis – To confirm the mean opinions score (MoS), packet loss, jitter, latency, and consistency of the Wi-Fi connection between the mobile device and any endpoint, combine roaming analysis with VoIP metrics data from automatically-detected VoIP Application Call traffic or test results of simulated voice Intropackets (among other factors).

Conclusion

This latest service, which is part of the Zebra MobilityDNA suite, allows you to see your entire Wi-Fi network in real time from any place. You no longer need to send anyone out on an expensive onsite visit to investigate the issue, nor do you need to waste time or money hiring a Wi-Fi specialist to analyze raw data every time..
