Zebra Link-OS v6.8 Free Printer Upgrade
Zebra Technologies has announced a new printer operating system, Link-OS 6.8, is being offered for use on currently supported printers.
This free upgrade brings additional features, including:
Support of the 802.11ax WiFi 6 radio: The printer OS for the ZQ6x0 printer models has been updated to provide support to the 802.11ax radio with new Set-Get-Go (SGD) commands added and existing SGD commands updated.
New ZPL command ^FE for field data concatenation/extraction: A new ZPL command ^FE has been added to allow field data concatenation and substring extraction by referencing ^FN fields.
Larger QR code support: Customer can now print larger size QR code with the ZPL command ^BQ by increasing the QR code maximum magnification factor.
Additional updates, changes and the list of supported printers will be detailed in the Link-OS v6.8 Release Notes, available when released. The Release Notes are delivered along with the OS update package. The Printer OS update packages can be downloaded from the Zebra Printer Support pages by searching on the model name of your printer.
Upgrading to Link-OS v6.8 is simple and straightforward. Upon release, the Link-OS v6.8 printer operating system will be available for download from zebra.com, as noted above. The Printer OS can then be sent to your printers using the free Z-Downloader Utility, or other applications.
