What printers are compatible with Square Terminals?

There are over 50 receipt printer models that are compatible with the Square POS hardware. Primarily from two major manufacturers: Star Micronics and Epson. Both brands will give you years of reliable use.

Square hardware requires one of three major connection types: USB (most common), Ethernet-Network and Bluetooth.

Operating systems can be a major first factor in determining what piece of Square hardware and printer you will purchase; for instance, printer brands with Bluetooth are always compatible with iOS readers and the Square Stand. Only a handful of printers are compatible with all Square devices and both iOS and Android readers; these printers also require Ethernet over Network connections. (Samples include Epson TM-82II and Star Micronics TSP143III LAN).
