One of the features we like the most besides a great price is the contactless charging option. One of the most common points of failure in the field is broken charge contact points. This is one of the first readers that features contactless charging.
The large screen with key pad add to the value. Previous Skorpio screens were smaller at 3.2 inches. The new 4.3 inch screen is one of the largest in it’s class.
Android OS
Earlier versions of the Skorpio ran on Windows Operating Systems. The new X5 is designed for Android 10 OS and upgradeable for future Android releases. This reader belongs in the “Android™ Enterprise Recommended” program, supporting a list of enterprise requirements specified by Google in terms of hardware, software and support.
Rugged
Gorilla Glass® protects the display against accidental damage. Drop resistance can be further increased with the use of the optional rubber boot accessory. All these attributes make this rugged device particularly suitable for mobile commerce solutions in the retail environment, both in-store and back-end receiving applications.
Green Spot Feedback and Scan Engines
Datalogic’s patented “green spot” scanning feedback provides users with a visual “good read”. This feature is ideal in areas where noise levels muffle the audio confirmation of a good scan.
The Skorpio X5 can be ordered with a 1D imager that auto-detects all standard 1D codes or a 2D imager that reads all major 2D barcodes
